Where children blossom.

Nurturing each child’s potential is at the heart of the Josie‘s Learning Center commitment. Caring for our community’s children creates a bright future for everyone. We welcome infants and children ages 4 weeks to age 12. Open Monday to Friday 5:30 am to 6:30 pm.

Infants and Toddlers A Lifetime Love of Learning starts here
Infants receive personalized attention that closely follows their schedule at home. Throughout their daily routines staff create close, nurturing bonds while giving infants ample opportunities to build upon skills and explore the world around them. Peace of mind for parents is assured.

A Toddlers’ daily schedule is created to give children the routine and consistency they crave. Staff plan developmentally appropriate activities to help promote children’s growing independence, encourage healthy social/emotional skills, and build upon rapidly growing cognitive development.

Preschool and Pre-K Our Preschool programs blend a play-based approach with structured curriculum that allow children the chance to interact organically with their environment. Through planned activities and intentional conversations, children learn social/emotional and self-regulation skills, and get to experience learning in areas such as math, science, art, literacy, sensory activities, and dramatic play.

The goal at Josie’s Learning Center is not only to prepare children for kindergarten, but to prepare them for a lifetime love of learning. Staff follow children’s lead and create engaging lesson plans that make children excited to study, learn and explore. We work closely with the local school district to ensure that children have a solid foundation that will help them ease into their elementary career.

Montessori for ages 3 to 6 Children are natural learners. Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952) pioneered a learning model that cultivates children’s innate curiosity, creativity and intellectual growth. Each child proceeds at his/her own pace and develops skills for independence and academic knowledge. Practical life and social skills, language, mathematics, sensory and cultural subjects are all explored in a learning environment that guides, nurtures, and enriches the individual child.

Before & After School to age 12 Early and later center hours (5:30 am to 6:30 pm) assure children have a safe, dynamic place to continue their learning and recreational development.

Indoor and outdoor play areas, art, eco-science, and other creative activities enhance social skills as well as intellectual and emotional development. Children are given dedicated time after school to work on homework, where staff are available to assist with help if needed.

Josie’s is proud to serve children who attend Stanwood, Twin City, and Cedarhome Elementary schools providing transportation between the center and schools if needed.

Summer time care includes weekly field trips to local parks, sporting events, art classes, theaters and more. During their time at the center, staff implement engaging activities to keep learning ongoing during the summer months.
